DISCOVER WHAT MEET THE PRESS MASTERCLASS DELIVERS!
12th & 13th May 2022
Sydney, NSW

You must be REALLY curious (and little bit keen) to meet the journalists to have come this far. Go YOU!

Here’s what you’ll experience if you are offered a place at the MasterClass:

PART 1: PRE-TRAINING
"The Anatomy of a Pitch"
This pre-training will guide you through each of the components of the P.I.T.C.H. process which will enable you to start thinking about your business through a media/newsworthy lens (rather than through a ‘this is what we’ve got to promote’ lens).
It’s this shift in thinking and this changing of lens that will enable you to put together your first draft of your media pitch (VERY different from a ‘sales’ pitch). This training will be sent in advance of the two days of the actual Meet The Press MasterClass.

PART 2: THE TWO DAYS WE SPEND TOGETHER
Day 1 - It's all about YOU!

8:30am - 8:30pm (approx.)
Kate wants you to present yourself to the hand selected group of journalist colleagues in the best light possible and is very clear that her job is to make YOU look good. Alongside meeting a high calibre of Journalists, expect to meet inspiring business owners like you who have their story and pitch prepared (we’ll do this with you), so the journalists can not only pick up amazing stories for their program or publication, but so they can also find their next ‘expert’ for their specific media outlet.
Many previous attendees are now regular ‘experts’ across a number of media platforms – all from meeting and pitching to the journalists at the MEET THE PRESS
MASTERCLASS.
Day 2 - Pitch to the Journos!
8:30am - 9:00pm (approx.)
Day 2 kicks off with media interview tips and tricks so that you are fully equipped for when the journalists arrive.
This is the day where you get to sit in an intimate circle with EACH AND EVERY journalist, (many of whom come back to this event year after year because they get so many stories from it), so that you can pitch your story to them directly. Journalists who represent Australia’s top media outlets like Fairfax, News Ltd, Channel 9, The Today Show, Today Extra, A Current Affair, The Age, Inside Small Business, Smart Company, a women’s magazine, business magazines. . . just to name a few.
Now, we can’t guarantee that every journalist you meet at the event will run your story... but Kate firmly believes that at least one of them WILL – otherwise she wouldn’t have offered you a place at this event. If history is to repeat itself, over 70% of our attendees go on to secure free media coverage within weeks of attending the workshop.
After each and every business person in the room has pitched their story to each and every journalist in the room, it’s TOOL BOX TIME. TOOL BOX TIME is where it all comes together with publicity plans, media releases and the all-important tools you’ll need to take your publicity journey forward and maximise the relationships with these high-powered media movers and shakers. Knowing how to follow up with these journalists will form the basis of your ongoing media success, so TOOL BOX TIME will close out the MasterClass perfectly.

PART 3: POST-MASTERCLASS
Implementation Call with Kate
Approx. 1 hour zoom session with Kate
As Kate explained during your application call, whilst you are in the pods pitching to the journalists, a member of our team is there taking notes FOR you as to what the journalists want from you. This feedback will be fully unpacked for you on your personalised Implementation Call with Kate in the week after the MasterClass, so your best next steps with each of the journalists are crystal clear for you.
Kate wants to ensure that the connections you’ve made with the journalists and the stories you have to tell are told (and followed up) in the most effective and successful way possible, and she’ll pull out all stops to make this happen for you. As a business owner, you KNOW the difference massive media exposure can make to your business, and this Meet The Press MasterClass will fast track your media relationships and media exposure like no other.
IN SUMMARY
The event runs for two days on 12th & 13th May 2022 and is being held in Sydney. As you would expect with an event of this calibre, there is an investment required.

Please note though – The MasterClass is an upsell free zone!  No sneaky, cheeky little upsell on the final day into a ‘coaching program’ with a Fijian cruise where you need for fork out more $$.

No, no, no.

The MasterClass is a full, end-to-end training where you get everything you need to manage your own free media without ever needing an expensive PR agency. The investment reflects this, and will be discussed with you on your application call.
Kate Engler
Kate Engler is referred to by some of the senior journalists as the PR Anti-Christ because she has revolutionised the way publicity is harnessed by businesses, giving them access to thousands of dollars of free media exposure without using the traditional PR agency model.

For many years Kate was a corporate high-flyer. She had a hugely successful career as a highly sought-after communications and PR specialist. During this time, she worked with internationally recognised brands including World Vision, P&O Cruises, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Starlight Children’s Foundation, BedShed, Homeloans Ltd, Australand, Sanwa Vines, and Dilmah Tea.

Over a decade ago, Kate turned her back on the corporate world to help small and medium sized businesses gain media exposure in print, on the radio and on TV without paying a cent for it.

Every year, Kate and her clients control hundreds of hours of TV and radio time, and hundreds of pages of national, local and specialty newspapers and magazines. She knows the media world inside out, and uses her knowledge, experience and contacts to help her clients gain sudden and massive media exposure.
This is primarily done via her signature MEET THE PRESS MASTERCLASS events which brings hand selected businesses together with 9 journalists for a 'speed dating' pitching experience that gives journalists direct access to high calibre businesses with stories ripe for the picking.

With her help, Kate’s clients are regularly featured on some of Australia’s biggest TV shows including The Project, A Current Affair, The Today Show, Mornings, Sunrise and ABC News 24.

Her clients have been interviewed on numerous radio stations including 3AW, 2UE, 2GB, 6PR, ABC Radio around the country and 4BC. They have also been featured in the nation’s biggest circulating newspapers including The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Courier Mail, The Australian, Herald Sun and Daily Telegraph as well as specialist business magazines like Inside Small Business, Spark and mysmallbusiness.com.au.

They have also found extremely valuable exposure in many specialist industry publications and on online news and industry sites.

Better still, a growing number of Kate’s clients are now asked to appear in the medial as experts in their field.

Apart from her extensive knowledge industry experience, Kate is known as an engaging, generous presenter and for her warm, welcoming and surprisingly (for a PR person) genuine nature.
